Wow it is 1/1/11! It is so hard to believe that the holidays have come and gone so quickly! Our family has been so blessed this holiday season. We celebrated with my family the second weekend in December and the kids had a ball as always! Then we went to Baltimore as soon as school got out. An aside, Jay did great on his first semester exams!! Baltimore was great. It is wonderful to catch up with Mike's family. Everyone was excited about us adopting our baby girl. The main question always is "when will you get her?". I wish I new!!!
Then, on December 20th, our last day in Baltimore, we were thrown a little curve ball. Amanda called me and says "Don't get too excited, but...". Well you know I got excited. Anyway, there was a baby girl on the waiting child list that really had no special needs. Opportunities like that do not happen often. We had to quickly decide, "Do we want this baby?" knowing we probably wouldn't be the first to jump. We responded as quickly as we could after we saw her picture, but we were too late. Seeing a baby's picture and thinking she could possibly be yours is so unbelievable. The let down we felt when we found out several hours later that she wasn't ours was hard, I was very sad. Add to that, when we got home that night, we had a letter from the placing adoption agency saying our wait time is going to be 2-4 months longer than we thought. Not a great day regarding the adoption.
Moving on...Christmas was great and we are extremely blessed. We enjoyed time with dear friends ( the Terrys, Austins, and Mowerys) and family in Jackson Christmas week.
The last week of 2010 was an awesome trip to Orlando for Mike's meeting and Disneyworld and the Alabama bowl game - Roll Tide!!! The time with my boys the last week of 2010 was priceless. We had so much fun at Disney riding our favorites - Tower of Terror, Splash Mountain and Expedition Everest. The joy my boys showed was amazing and nothing short of a gift from my gracious God. We laughed SO much this week - it was wonderful!!! We ended the week with the Capitol One Bowl and Alabama dominated. Again, Roll Tide. We have decided instead of saying hello to people we are just going to say " Roll Tide"! It really is just like the ESPN commercial at the games and after the game when you see people out. We went to Cracker Barrel a hour or so outside of Orlando and there were several fans there. No hellos but lots of "Roll Tide". Oh, something else that made this mom SO happy. My Jay man simply
asked me to play checkers at cracker barrel. I love family time!!!!
I am so thankful for my boys and wondeful husband. God is good and He is sovereign. I am trying to wait well and enjoy my family and really trying to live in the moment. God will deliver our baby girl in our arms at just the right time - of this I am confident!!
