Korean Airlines is just so cool! The attendants are all so beautiful and kind! We splurged and got business class seats which was wonderful! We could lie down and sleep which we did for about 6 hours. We had lots of movies to choose from to watch which was nice too! They served us 2 yummy meals and wonderful juices throughout the flight. And then when we arrived, my luggage was lost...someone took my bag by accident instead of theirs and I was so ready to get to the hotel and shower and change...
The taxi ride into Seoul from the airport reminded me so much of NY. It is very industrial and along the water. Seoul itself is a lot like NY. But it is kind of sprawling like LA. We made it to our hotel and since we were early do you think they let us check in?? Well, of course and let us upgrade your room free of charge - well okay!!! We did shower, but I had to put on the same clothes - yuck! We had a yummy brunch in the hotel which was so interesting. They had the American omelets (although with no cheese and smaller but delicious!), waffles, lots of different breads and then they had Korean foods and other Asian dishes as well.
We decided to go shopping in an area called Itaewon today. It reminded me of a mix of SoHo and Chinatown in NY. Some cool boutiques mixed in with fake purses and fake brand named clothes. Mike is having a custom suit made which I think is really cool! Did I find any clothes for me? No! But I did find some Korean cosmetics which I love! We found some traditional dresses for Anna Grace and all sorts of goodies including luggage that will not be mistaken for anyone else's! When we got back to the hotel, my suitcase was being delivered!! So thankful they were able to track down the person who took it by accident!!
We were soooo tired at 3:00 local time (1:00 in the morning at home) that we both crashed which is why I am up at 3:00 writing and why we watched church online at 2:00! We did sleep 8 hours and I am going to try to get a couple more hours in now!
We are so excited to meet our sweet daughter today (small chance it will be Tuesday though)!! I love Seoul! The people for the most part are so kind and most of them speak at a little English. And most of the signs are written in English as well as Korean.
Please keep the prayers coming! I promise I will post some pictures!!
